Prayers of the People (based on Psalm 8)
O Lord our Sovereign,
how exalted is your name in all the world!
You created the heavens and the earth
and placed us in your world to glorify and enjoy you forever.
We pray for those who are most vulnerable among us,
especially the children who look to us for loving care.
Give us boldness and compassion
to care for those who are most in need.
We pray with wonder as we celebrate the intricate vastness of your creation.
We rejoice in the glory of the heavens and the beauty of the earth,
and we are grateful to be a part of your design.
We pray for your people who are in need,
for the sick, the lonely, the broken, and the grieving,
who are especially close to your heart, as they are to ours.
Clothe your people with healing, with gladness, with hope.
We pray for the wholeness of this earth you have entrusted to us.
For peace, for the harvest, and for the well-being of every creature, we pray.
O Lord our Sovereign,
how exalted is your name in all the world!
We give you glory in Jesus’ name,
joining together now in the prayer he taught:
The Lord’s Prayer
