POP: our help comes from you

O Lord, we lift up our eyes to the hills,
looking for justice, for help, for you.
All our help comes from you, O Lord, maker of heaven and earth.
Come to the aid of those who cry out in need,
and strengthen those who stand up for justice.
Keep our hearts open and our minds attentive
to those for whom we too might speak out.
Watch over those who are in need for any reason,
especially these we lift up before you today…

Lord, be our shepherd and our shade;
protect and preserve your people everywhere.
Watch over us from now and forevermore,
we pray in Jesus’ name, saying with him:
