O God, we praise your word;
we put our trust in you beyond our fear,
for what can mortals do do us?
We know the dangers that surround us
from illness, injury, and accident.
Some days it seems like the next disaster is watching for a chance to strike.
We call upon you for the needs that are closest to our hearts…
O God, we praise your word;
we put our trust in you beyond our fear,
for what can mortals do do us?
We know the needs of this world,
due to injustice, exploitation, and violence.
We do not turn away from danger or hardship.
We commit ourselves to the work of justice.
O God, we praise your word;
we put our trust in you beyond our fear,
for what can mortals do do us?
You, O God, have rescued us from death
and held our feet from stumbling,
so we may walk before you in life and faithful service.
We praise your word, O God,
and we put our constant trust in you,
in Jesus’ name. Amen.
