Make room for the advent of God!
Make room for unforgettable transformation!
Make room to see the world turned upside-down…
Valleys will touch the sky…Mountains will be flattened…
And we will all see it together!
So let’s make room for something new…and let’s worship God!

confession: speechless
We are filled with words;
and yet, it often seems as if we have nothing to say.
We like to speak when it serves our own purpose…
but we clam up when we’re asked to be prophetic.
We make excuses about disrupting the status quo…
or not wanting to risk our safe reputations.
The truth is…we are encouraged to speak out…
but all we can manage to say is, “What should I say?”
So give us transforming words…and empower us to speak them…
illumination: light
Holy God,
At times, we feel as if we’re completely in the dark.
We don’t recognize that your light is always around us,
Until we realize that it’s not that we’re standing in the dark…
It’s that our eyes are shut tight…
And our hands are placed firmly and completely over them.
So give us the courage to remove our hands from our face,
And to open our eyes…
So that we may see clearly, live fully, and serve freely…
Amen.
declaration of grace: people on the way
Thanks to Teri’s CTW (people on the way) for the thematic inspiration ๐
Listen to the good news!
We are people on the way…
We are people whom God refuses to abandon
when we choose the destructive way in our moments of weakness.
We are people on the way to lives of faith, hope, and love…
Lives of justice, mercy, and humbleness.
We are people on the way…
So let’s sing and give thanks to God!
confession: humility
God…
We want to be humble.
We don’t like to call attention to ourselves…
unless we’re doing something.
We don’t assume that we have all the answers…
unless we’re still breathing.
We don’t want to be given titles…
unless we can use them for our own advantage.
We want to be humble…
because you said it will make us great.
Help us understand what humility means…
and teach us to be faithful servants…
to ourseves, to one another, and to those around us…
